Description

Start off at the spittal hotel car park, follow the path southwards over the shoulder of Creag an Dubh Shluic, along the path there is a well equipped bothy, where queen Victoria was said to visit, ( according to rumours),there is a junction near the bothy at NO 08240, 67290, one heads southwards heading to the woods, the other heads eastwards. A circuit can be done either way by going through Calamanach wood, and head back to the bothy see map.
Note we took the easterly route, was easy going until you got near the woods where a lot of forestry work is underway and is very muddy
