Glencoe July 2006 NCR
Summary

Having injured my knee from the last walk up Ben Nevis I decided to go for short walk.
Start from the car park and follow the obvious path upwards in-between Gearr Aonach and Beinn Fhada into the Lost Valley ( hidden glen) this is where the Macdonalds fled from the Campbells when they were being massacred during the winter of 1692, but it is Also where the Macdonalds legendary Hid their stolen cattle.
The path is fairly easy going apart from some odd rocks to negotiate and a fallen tree to either climb over or to go under.
Depending on the water level the path reaches a branch where you could either go over the stepping stones to the upper side of the glen or climb some big boulders taking you into the lower side of the glen.

The water was low so we chose to cross by the stepping stones and take the upper descent into the lost valley
The Lost valley still amazes me and never get tired of seeing it totally hidden from all sides until your actually in it and magnificent alpine like scenery.
Something kind of spooky set upon us that day my camera worked all day apart from when we were in the lost valley.
None of the pictures I took were any good to show that I had taken inside.

We traced back the same route until we got back to the car park. And then followed general wades road and part of the west highland way to the kings house hotel where we waited for the bus pickup.

Route Distance: 14.7 km
Estimated Time: 5:27
Total Ascent: 626 m
Total Descent: 545 m
