Crianlarich to Tyndrum

Well here we go for the Start of the wet weather. it was bound to happen sooner or later. After the last walk With the NCR Up Ben Challum this was indeed another wet day. After I came down from ben chalum I thought i had left my walking pole In kirkton farm. I had no hope of getting it back.

As we approached our destination Leo and I were unsure what walk we wanted to do, Leo said he felt a bit under the weather and did not want to do anything to strenuous so we decided to do a bit of the West Highland Way detouring up glen cononish to Scotlands only gold mine.

The day started off fairly dry as we walked through the woods north of Crianlarich to pick up the West Highland way track. we then follwed the WHW track down to Kirkton farm for a bacon butty and a cuppa. I plucked up courage to ask if someone had handed in my walking pole. The man that served us said it was handed in and was over in the corner, and summoned me to go get it. I was delighted it was not an expensive pole but it made the journey worth while. I think Leo tthought that this little walk was all a plan to get my stick back.

We eventually left our tummys now content. and headed off in the direction of Tyndrum again on the WHW, we then left the track and continued up away from the WHW track and up Cononish glen. the rain was gon and off sometimes heavy enough that we had to get our wet gear on. we were about half way up the glen when we decided to abandon our attempt to get to the mine and to head back to Tyndrum Via the path through the wood and into the Tyndrum lower station. and onwards into The green welly for some refreshments. We found that we had got back too early and had the weather been better we might have added on something else.
