Cally Weekend April 2007

Route: Weekend Meet: KinlochLeven
I went on a weekend meet with the Caledonian Hillwalking Club.
Leo and I arrived about 1pm Friday , Leo decided to climb the “ Pap of Glencoe”. I chose to stay and await the arrival of the main party.
Next day conditions were wet. Leo and I decided on doing a Low level walk both of us were not up to doing anything higher We chose to go up to Loch Eldie Mor, and then took the track over to Blackwater Reservoir. Following the side of the reservoir back to the hostel.
Note This is hard going under foot we lost the track a few times and is Boggy in wet weather. On the way from blackwater down to the hostel you follow the path along the river Leven . BEWARE there are a few OBSTACLES on route. One of them we had to cross over a HUGE waterfall / Rapid.
We had a good time thanks to all who gave a hand organizing the trip, unfortunately we had to leave early Sunday mainly due to my foot and Leo’s Injury also because our walking clothes and boots were of no good, all were soaked right through!.

Route Distance: 19.5 km
Estimated Time: 6:41
Total Ascent: 711 m
Total Descent: 869 m
