Route: Glen Clova DEC 2006 Caledonian Loch Brandy
Xmas high tea at the Clova Hotel afterwards
Was another Windy Wintry Day when we arrived at the Clova Hotel, The new path starts just behind the bunkhouses the new path runs all the way up to Loch Brandy and is a continual Steep climb. The last time I Visited the loch there was no such path and I was up to my knees in mud and slipped on my rear more times than I can count.
We arrived at the shore line of loch brandy the Visibility was only a few yards and the wind was picking up to near gale force. Having decided against going up the Snub we Soldiered on through Fierce winds and sleet to the top of Green Hill. Conditions were near blizzard and near impossible to continue any further so we decided to return via the path.
Having reached the Hotel we found ourselves too early to wait on the bus so we continued to Glen Doll which is a further 4 kilometers along the road.
After we picked up the rest of the walkers we went back to the Clova Hotel for the pre booked xmas high tea. And a well deserved Martini.
An Excellent day apart from the weather making us turn back.
