Route: Crianlarch-Tyndrum Aug NCR 2006
Description
We started at just short of the rail station headed north westwards until we cleared the village, just outside the village we found the sign pointing to the west highland way
Having crossed the wooden Style at Grid ref 37869, 25657, We found ourselves up to our waist in deep rough fern and grass with no obvious pathway.
We decided to plod on through the damp grass and see if we could catch up with any sign of the so called path that was clear on the map but even with my GPS we could not find it, so after 30 mins we decided to call off the search and head back to the roadside
We then followed the road until we met the west highland way as it crossed over the other side of the road
We again left the west highland way at Auchtertyre Farm, which has a great camp site with the new heated wigwams and prices were quite reasonable.
Having spent time admiring the camp and chatting to some of the campers we plodded on through the glen just north of this farm towards beinn chaorach, we followed double path up as far as GR 36549,31391, look out for spectacular rapids and water falls at
GR 35540.3017. We decided not to climb any further and turned around headed back to the farm and took up the path towards TYNDRUM we even came across the Lochan where Robert the Bruce was to said to hurl his Sword into at GR 33695, 29220.
Apart from the start of the walk it was a nice walk with plenty of interest.
